We’re honored to select the 6th flower of bernard james’ new Flora Collection, a remastered and re-scaled version of his original five flowers - lily, rose, sunflower, petunia, and daisy - presented alongside our pick: the Hellebore.

The hellebore is an illusive flower; its “petals” are actually a protective group of “sepals” that function like leaves to photosynthesize and guard the funnel-shaped nectaries at its center. This cunning feature, likely a result of adaptation and evolution, reminded us of Bernard’s use of mirrors as a symbol that represents the complexities of identity and importance of self-reflection. Discovering these parallels convinced us that we had found the 6th flower.
